just wondering if there is a way to add new tags when creating a post in WLW? At the moment I can see the tags on the drop down but do add new ones have to go to the site and make them available before I can use them (same as categories).

Sure. You type your tags in the keywords field in windows live writer. http://www.nyveldt.com/blog/post/Windows-Live-Writer-Customization-for-BlogEngineNET.aspx

With tags, it doesn't matter if the tag existed before or not, just type them in.

There is currently no way to add new categories with WLW in BlogEngine.NET. (You can of course, put your post in one or more existing categories.) I'll add a way to add categories from WLW as time allows.

thanks :)
Nice and simple, just like it out to be ;)

I guess the icing in the cake would be the ability to select tags from the cloud view and populate the list (to avoid typos) and to have a category list so you could quickly add a new one then refresh the view in WLW to use it ;)
