Hi All: Just did a basic install of blogengine, and noticed in the settings that I couldn't get the mail config to work. When I test email settings, I receive "could not connect" no matter what combination of settings I try (server name, server IP, authentication, etc.)...I also don't see the a connection attempt in the mailserver's log.

BE is running on server 2000 sp4 with ASP.NET 2.0.50727 installed...everything else on BE works except for mail.

When I tried to send a test email as admin, I received this error:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

If I instead sign out and try to send an anonymous message, I receive a graceful error like:

"This form does not work at the moment. Sorry for the inconvenience. "
