using /blog/ folder but not declaring as an application

I have asked my hosting company of I am able to turn my /blog/ folder into an application... no problem, just a quick setting in IIS....

Now they are telling me they cannot do this as it is shared hosting, so I must upgrade to their £60 per month dedicated server package... Cowboys!  I'd move but at the minute, I have no choice.

Therefore I need to make blogengine 1.6 work in my /blog/ subfolder without declaring this as an application. Can someone point me to some instructions on how to do this successfully please?

Many Thanks

Take a look at this discussion. It is old, but basic idea is the same: you need to merge your web.config into upper level directory, granted it is your site root and is configured as application.

Thanks very much for this link! I've followed the instructions, copying the required blog directories to the root, and merging / modifying the webconfig file, plus some mods to my custom theme and it works great, alot less hassle than I expected, thanks again.
