SiteMap ?

I just installed BlogEngine.net 1.6.1.0 and I can't find the sitemap.axd file. The video shows editing the robots.txt file so that Google and other SE's will find my sitemap at ~sitemap.axd, but I can't find it. Where is it?

It's not a physical file, but a virtual URL.

http://www.yourblog.com/sitemap.axd

It's an XML sitemap that gets dynamically generated upon request.

Thanks for the reply. How does it get requested? Does this happen when Google crawls my website and happens to find sitemap.axd on its' own? Or can I can submit it manually.

I'm pretty sure search engines like Google allow you to submit an XML sitemap URL -- such as sitemap.axd.

But even if you don't submit a sitemap to each search engine, search engines automatically look for robots.txt.  This file is a pre-determined / standard.  The search engines will look at the contents of robots.txt, where you can specify various things including a URL to your sitemap.  By having the sitemap URL in robots.txt, the search engines can follow (or go to) that URL and read your sitemap.
