Log in woes

Jun 2, 2010 at 1:59 PM

Good morning!

I set up an instance of BlogEngine.NET for my photography work (http://blog.boundmuse.com) and I've run into a snag: I cannot log in. I don't mean "I can't log in" in the sense of my password is bad or I fail to authenticate. Rather, clicking on the "Log In" never does anything useful. I define use as "trying to talk to the server and authenticate my credentials." Just to be certain, I fired up Fiddler to watch the HTTP traffic from the client and clicked on the button several times. Nothing. Hooking up a Javascript debugger to the browser didn't reveal anything terribly useful, though I was kind of screaming through it as I was wanting to make a post.

Thanks for any and all help you can provide.

Love,
amber

You have a script tag for jQuery.  It is incorrectly formed ... which is causing problems with the page being parsed incorrectly ... which is causing problems with the <form> tag being ignored by the browser.  If you fix the tag, that'll solve this.  You have:

<script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js" type="text/javascript" />

It should be:

<script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

This is probably in your site.master file in your theme folder.

Thank you! Late last night I had pegged it down to something with my theme, but I hadn't investigated it further yet and the jQuery reference is in the theme's master page.

Thank you!
