Login issue - Classic ASP pages within BlogEngine

I have successfully integrated a classic ASP site with BlogEngine by loading pages using the <iframe> tag. However, users have to authenticate twice, first when the default.aspx page loads and then when the .asp page loads within the <iframe> tag.

Is there a way to prevent 2 logins? I suspect this may involve sharing session variables, but I am not the strongest ASP/.NET programmer. Any help would be much appreciated.

You could permit them to log in to default.aspx and before the Render process, write out the needed information to the query string of the SRC attribute for the iframe which loads the classic ASP page. You would need to modify the classic ASP script to look for that QS.

If this application is exposed to the public you might try to avoid iframe which has exposed some exploits over the years.

Google (or Bing) for this: session asp classic

Thanks for this suggestion and for the prompt reply. I will get to work on this angle and see what I can do.

All the best!
