404 Not Working

Jul 14, 2010 at 12:11 PM

So I'm a new user of BlogEngine.NET. I'm migrating my data from my old site to the new site. I'm confused that my old web links are not 404ing. An example is "http://sharpdeck.net/articles/52" doesn't exist anymore but if I go to that link it still displays the site but just an empty page.

I don't like this. This page does not exist and should be a 404 error.

Any Ideas?

Thanks,
Bobby Cannon

BUMP? Anyone have any ideas?

I started using BlogEngine.NET so I wouldn't have to "work" on the website engine. I really don't feel like troubleshooting this and I was hoping someone else had seen this.

If I do decide to fix this issue I will post it here...

It looks like it could be your 404 page itself that's the issue. Every bogus URL I entered (like http://sharpdeck.net/asdfasdfasdfdsf ) returns the same thing. Have you modified the error404.aspx page? Are you sure it's set as the default 404 Error page in IIS? I had a similar issue here that may help you.

I have not modified anything except a template. The problem is that I'm not getting any 404 page...

It's my bad. My host was forwarding all 404 to my homepage. Sorry about the confusion.
