<img src="..."> Image path

Just a quick question. I have a number of images on my pages and I've been having trouble setting the path to them. So far the only thing I've been able to get to work is the full URL i.e. http://www.domain.com/themes/standard/image/file.gif. I've tried "images/file.gif" and "./images/file.gif" and even "../images/file.gif". I'm guessing it may have to do with the way BE is building the page and the relative path from whatever files are responsible for building the page. That's just a guess mind you.

Anyway, what would be the proper relative path for images stored in an "images" folder under the selected theme?

I hope I'm not just skipping over something here like I did on the cut off "Resources" page. That was embarrassing.

This should work:

/images/file.gif

Hmmm... Well I must be missing something else. No surprise there.

So it is what you would normally expect for the path. No issues to do with where it's being called from.

If you prefix the images with a leading forward slash, then no matter what folder (or path) you are in, the image will always be referenced starting from the root of the site.

It used to be that when you would insert a SRC or HREF with the WYSIWYG editor, it would sometimes convert that SRC to something relative from the editor page.  But we turned off the "convert URLs" option in the tinyMCE WYSIWYG editor.  So it should preserve whatever SRC you enter for images.

If you use /images/file.gif and the image doesn't appear when viewing the Page (i.e. on the real site, not in the editor), you can do a View Source in your browser to see/verify the exact SRC that is in the HTML.  It *should* be the same SRC that you enter within the WYSIWYG editor.
