We have a website written in .Net framework 1.1 with VB.Net as language. We are planning to add blogging feature to it with BlogEngine.NET. I Upgraded the .Net framework for the application to 2.0. I have extracted the BlogEngine.Net in a subdirectory. Website
is working fine till we are accessing older pages but when we tried to access blogging part, it throws following error:
Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately.
Parser Error Message: It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS.
Line 10: <BlogEngine>
Line 11: <blogProvider defaultProvider="XmlBlogProvider">
Line 12: <providers>
Line 13: <add name="XmlBlogProvider" type="BlogEngine.Core.Providers.XmlBlogProvider, BlogEngine.Core"/>
Source File: XXXX\XXXX\XXXXX\web.config Line: 11
If we are testing BlogEngine.Net stand alone, its working fine. Also checked in IIS, its showing BlogEngine directory as a part of folder structure.
Please suggest how we can fix this problem.
