Hello Everyone;

I'm dealing with 2 domains that are constantly generating spam comments.  The domains use numerous email addresses, and usually come from different IP's.  Is there a way to block any comments from specific domain?

I tried using the following filters in the comments configuration section, but they are not working:

  • Block comments where website contains fae123dfgb.com
  • Block comments where website contains fae456a652wer.com
  • Block comments where website equals fae123dfgb.com
  • Block comments where website equals fae456a652wer.com

I have also applied the recomended fix for ping back spam:

"Go to admin/settings/advanced and remove check mark in "enable pingbacks" and "enable trackbacks" opting to not receive them."

As you can see the spammers are coming from:

  • fae123dfgb.com
  • fae456a652wer.com

Appreciate your input in advance.

Appreciate any of your input.

I may have answered my own question by adding the following filters;

Block comments where email contains fae456a652wer.com

Block comments where email contains fae123dfgb.com

We will see ...

Check this guide on setting up comment filtering/moderation. I'm guessing that you are using 1.6.x.x - you need to enable "automoderation" for filters to work.

Auto-moderation is on, but its only catching some of the emails from the offending domains others are going into the inbox.  Seems like there should be an option to block all emails from a particular domain.

Yes the version is 1.6.1.0

In this case, you might have conflicting filters - it is white listed by IP and black listed by email. If so, remove that "allow IP" filter.
