Is it possible to implement these?

  • Making admin comments have a different background color?
  • Only logged in users can comment?

It looks like in BE 2.0 you can set the permissions for Anonymous users - which includes being able to both see and/or create comments.  If you have BE 2.0, go to the control panel, click the Users tab, then Roles sub-tab, for the Anonymous role, hover over the Tools button and click Rights.  Uncheck the "Create Comments" option.

I haven't tried this as I don't require that level of restriction, but assuming they did their permission coding properly, it should work as you want.

I don't know about the admin comment backcolor thing though. The theme would have to know which comments were from the admin and style it differently; however on one of my blogs, this happens naturally. See this post: I added a test comment at the end, and when I view it without being logged in, it's got a different backcolor.

Yes like that, can you please upload the code for the comment view? Thanks.
