Upgrade problems

Topics: ASP.NET 2.0, Controls

I've recently upgraded from version 1.5 to 2.0 . The installation appeared to go ok but after migrating my posts to the new version they are not displaying correctly. The main problem is text formatting. That is posts, which I've taken from the previous version, run straight across and off the page and do not formatt themselves as normal. Is this a common problem, and can be fixed, or have I screwed up the installation? Any help would be much appreciated.

Highly likely there need to be a CSS update.

Can you provide a link?

Hi Guy,

This is a link to the site:

As you can see plain text does format, however, text which is contained within an active link does not. I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

If you check this page in the FireBug, it'll show exactly why link is not braking: .text a[href^="http:"] {
    background: url("../../pics/remote.gif") no-repeat scroll right top transparent;
    padding-right: 10px;
    white-space: nowrap;
See that "nowrap" instruction? Get rid of it in the CSS file and it should wrap very long links to the next line.

Hi rtur,

Many thanks for your advice; it's worked a treat. If I may I'd like to impose on you again with a request for help with regard to the calendar.

I'd like to use it as a kind of events calendar. Ideally it would display a post in the normal way ( and be seen by visitors ) but it would also be able to be found, at a future specified date, by clicking on to the calendar. I have seen a number of other people make similar requests and, if my memory serves me correctly, a post from BenAmada outlining help on a related item.

I'd appreciate any advice ( from any quarter ) you can give me.

Once again many thanks for the 'wrap around' problem
