I want to add disqus commenting to my blog (a fairly easy process) but to do it optimally for layout I need to know if I'm in the default mode (>1 post per page) or the per post (permalinked) view.

I want to turn off the line of code that reads
<div id="disqus_thread"></div><script type="text/javascript" src="http://disqus.com/forums/offbeatmammal/embed.js"></script><noscript><a href="http://offbeatmammal.disqus.com/?url=ref">View the forum thread.</a></noscript><a href="http://disqus.com" class="dsq-brlink">blog comments powered by <span class="logo-disqus">Disqus</span></a>

if I'm looking at a post list (home page, archive page, tag list etc) but have it included when I look at the post itself

Any thoughts?

Of course, it would be really nice to have a "use disqus" option in the settings to do this automagically ;)

the comment in this thread - http://www.codeplex.com/blogengine/Thread/View.aspx?ThreadId=16656 - seems to solve the problem. cloning the postview.ascx and editing post.aspx.cs to point to the new one seems to work.
