Where to put the StomForumSpam API keys.

I  notice that it does not have any settings features from the extensions like AkismetFilter does.

I looked at the code it does not have the extension settings like AkismetFilter.

Wondering is there a reason for this?

Would like to put my API keys in so I could use the stomforumspam website control panel. Seems to have some nice features to use.

It does not require API key. It is public service you can query like:

http://www.stopforumspam.com/api?ip=11.22.33.44

And it will return true if IP passed appears in their spammers database.

I want it to be able to submit spammers to the database.

I want to automate submissions through programming using the API key.

Right now StopForumspam in BE only checks the database for spam, but it does not add to the database new spammers.

http://www.stopforumspam.com/add

If BE can add to the database I think that would help alot.

Adding to the Database

Submissions to the database first require an API key. You can then use our add form to submit your spammer data. Please note that if you sign up on our forums with the same email address you used when you registered your API key, your key will be pre-populated in the form as long as you're logged in.

You can automate submissions by making an HTTP GET to the following URLs. We support different methods for submissions

Standard form submission can be done with the following parameters:

http://www.stopforumspam.com/add.php
?username=USERNAME
&ip_addr=IPADDRESS
&email=EMAILADDRESS
&api_key=ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Other platforms will require different code.

They only have PHP code no asp.net.

Oh I see. Yes, can easily be done. The reason it is not exactly because submitting IP requires to register for API key, and I wanted basic protection turned on out of the box. But it can be modified so that checking done always and reporting spam (pass IP to database) only if blogger set up API key.

Would you add this feature?

Can you let me know when its ready?  Kbdavis07@yahoo.com

Also does the AkismetFilter for BE submits Spam to their database? Or does it only checks it ?

[(Edit) After looking at the code for AkismetFilter looks like it submits spam and Ham to the Akismet database.]

Is this correct?

Thanks
