This may be a simple question but I've been working on it for a couple hours and can't seem to figure out where the option is, if the option exists. I have a role called "users" for the general user of my blog. I like the idea that they can add categories, however, they are also able to delete and edit categories which I do not want them to have that priveledge. Please advise me if there is a way to disable/enable this as I don't see it as any of the options under roles.

In BE 2.0 and BE 2.5 there is no rights options for "Categories"

That needs to be added.

Ok.....that answers my question but gives me no solution. What am I suppose to do, surely there is a workaround, you can't just let your users delete categories as you add them.

Got a  work around for this :)

Users can add categories through the add post page.

But they can't edit or delete it.

Try it out here:

First try this login: cat/cat

You can post but not edit or change categories

Now try: admin/admin

You can edit categories

If you like how this works I can reply to this post with directions on how to do it.
