Parent/Child blog agregation

Nov 24, 2011 at 9:23 PM

On I have a multi blog setup with blogs for each of my team on their own child blog e.g. http://..../blog/richard and http://..../blog/fred

Is there any way to make the parent site http://.../blog an agregate feed of all the child blogs? So the home page list the last 10 blog post from any child blogs

Also anyway to unify the user accounts between the blogs? Or do I have to setup users on eahc blog

I will likely be putting in some code into BE so the primary blog can be used to display the blog posts across all sub-blogs.  So the next version of BE should have this.  There's currently no scheduled date for the next version of BE.  Sometime in the next few months.

I'm not sure what you have in mind regarding unifying the user accounts between the blogs.

Useful to know that feature is being added

The reason I asked about the parent blog being an agregate and also unified user accounts across the set of blogs is that we are migrating away from an old Community 2007 Server. As I am sure you know in CS there is one user database and the concept of agregate feeds on groups of blogs e.g. we have a feed that is 'all developers'. Also this meant if someone is registered on my blog to comment they did not have to register again for any other blog on the server. However don't think this should be an issue as the reason we were forcing user to register to comment was due to spam, I think simplecaptcha and recaptcha might avoid this issue on
