User controls in the RSS feed

I am using user control injection to put content into blog posts. The problem is that these are going out in the RSS feed. I am also putting in descriptions of the posts with out the controls. Is there a way to have the output to the feed use the descriptions instead? Having user control markup in the feed is just sloppy.

Patrick,

Currently the RSS feed generator can only generate the whole content in a feed entry. I think this feature should already be included in the enhancement list of the next version of BlogEngine.NET.

Thanks for the response Agus.

I poked around in the source code but was unable to locate a place to change this myself. Have any pointers on where to look?

Is it possible to sponsor a feature to expedite its development?

Patrick,
You can open the SyndicationGenerator.cs in the BlogEngine.Core library project. Then you can go to specific method WriteRssEntry() or WriteAtomEntry(). There you can find how the content of item (IPublishable) is written as RSS/Atom feed.
