Just include the trackback urls in your posts, and they'll work.

I include a trackback URL (like http://blog.webtop.dk/trackback.axd?id=6943ee73-a68b-4dc1-a705-ed8277874099 ) in my comment on someone-elses post ?

I've tried here: http://mthoger.wordpress.com/2008/07/30/trackback/
But with nothing happening here: http://blog.webtop.dk/post/2008/07/30/Sc3a6t-strc3b8m-til-viden-nar-videndeling-gc3b8r-en-forskel.aspx [post in danish]

Im i doing something wrong? - and can I see a fully functional example somewhere?

Sorry for my misdescription, I meant you only need to include the urls which pointing to the referred posts, and they'll work.
Eg. You'd like to trackback a post which has the trackback url http://blog.aaa.com/trackback.axd?id=123-456, the post is at  http://blog.aaa.com/post/123-456.aspx, you only need to include http://blog.aaa.com/post/123-456.aspx (but not the trackback url) in you post, BE.net will do the trackback automatically.

Theoretically, that's the case.  But is it actually working?  I've never been able to get trackbacks to work with blogengine.net.  I'm using shared hosting with GoDaddy, but there were no problems with DasBlog and trackbacks.  Is there some setting in the config I need to add/change the ability to do this from my site, like cross-domain issues hindering it or something?

I have read that GoDaddy blocks HttpWebRequests.  Try to create one manually and see if you get an error.

I am on my own dedicated server.  These have never worked for me... how would one block HttpWebRequests?

How would one 'create one manually' to test?

I'd LOVE for this to be fixed, because it hasn't worked for me... and as mentioned previously I have been on BE since1.0.

Theoretically, GoDaddy doesn't block HttpWebRequests.  Regardless, I've switched hosts and it's still not working even though I have full trust.

Of course, we might be able to diagnose this better if we had some sort of logging (hint hint).

It worked, but whether working or not, I have no idea.
I've been seeing its trackback messages sucessfully posted as comments in the referenced blogs, but I also couldn't find some other trackback messages which should be in referenced blogs.
So, at least it worked once.
