Custom theme, closing widgets

Hi I've created a custom theme for BlogEngine 1.4.  I can remove widgets using the Standard theme but when I switch back to my custom theme they reappear and I cannot remove them.  Has anyone else had this problem?

Are you sure that you put a widgetzone in the custom theme, not just the widget controls themselves?

Here's a snippet

     <div id="column3">
      <div id="canBottom"></div>

      <blog:WidgetZone runat="server" ID="rightzone" />
    </div>

@devinmcmanus:

I've done my first theme using the widgets and ran into the same problem.

(I hesitate to add that I hacked it by just using CSS to hide it. Yuck.)

As usual, used the Standard theme as the template for the necessary elements, and I removed no standard elements.

Do you happen to have a form on your custom theme? I mean like a HTML form for someone to fill out and submit.
