I don't know too much about html. In my mind, head is just a place to put some meta data.
But I have seen many links added by using of AddGenericLink() method of BlogBasePage class.
Why is that?

The reason the head has so much data in it is because it's not rendered to the screen. The head section is starting to be used to allow machines to communicate to each other and by using the <link/> tag, BE can describe what the href is for with the rel attribute. It may seem like a lot of info, but most of it is not meant to be read by a person. Mostly other blogging software and search engines. Does that answer your question?

Yes,thank you for you explanation.
I think it's a bit too complicated when it comes to "machine communication"....
