Hi

My theme(ElegantBlue) comes with an about page that does not work. I want to create a "page" and hook it up to the about page button.

I then want to embed my linkedin profile. I found these instructions but I am not sure how to follow them as I don't have access to the head area and when I just try to put everyting in the body I don't get the expected result.

 Profile App Example

'); IN.parse(document.getElementById("profile")) }) }
Is what I get.

Anyone know what the best way to approach this is?

Hi Chobo2,
  1. The about page you can create from within BE no point in having a "standalone" page meaning a page that has an actual page like contact.aspx or archive.aspx
Just to go admin panel -->Pages--> Create new

After you create the page take the URL of the newly created page and "hardcode" that link into your site.master page of your theme.
  1. LinkedIn Profile
Go here:

With that code you can just put it in a widget or a page if you like.

Example:

In page:

http://demo.bloggersonline.com/page/aboutus

Notice in the url "/page" <-- these are BE generated pages not "standalone" pages.

In Widget

http://demo.bloggersonline.com

Go to the very very bottom on the right side.

You can have specific widgets only show up for certain sections or specific pages if you like too?

Like a set of widgets just for your posts and then another set just for your pages.

Or for specific pages like "aboutUs"

A live example of this is on my website:

Look here:

http://kbdavis07.info/contact.aspx

The "Contact Info" is just a "text box" widget with html code for only my "Contact Info" page look else where on the website and you do not see that
widget.

Now look at the posts.

It only have "Post" related widgets like recent posts and etc.

Now look at my pages like:

http://kbdavis07.info/page/Brian-Keith-Davis-WEB-DESIGNER-DEVELOPER-WEBMASTER-Resume.aspx

You will notice it only have widgets that are related to "pages" and not "posts".

I had made a post about this here some where a while back. If interested in this let me know :)

Have a great day!

Hey

Ya that's what I ended up doing I just made a "page" and then used that generator. I was hoping to show my whole profile as embedded but it does not seem like I can do this.

P.S Have you been getting my other emails?
