Slug (optional) defaults back to extract from title

I have discovered strange behaviour when using Pages.

I created a page and then manually entered a Slug different from that of the title. This works fine and behaves as expected.

However, after a while (I cannot determine what is causing this) the Slug defaults back to the title name which means links are broken on my site.

Am I missing something or is this a known bug?

Thanks for any help anyone can be,

The only slug related problem I've seen is this one where if you edit a post, and you only modify the slug and save changes, the slug isn't saved in the datastore (XML files or DB).  So the slug will work for a while, but if your blog restarts or isn't used for a while, then the slug is looked up in the datastore and the old one is picked up since the new one was never saved.

This might not be what you're running into.  But if it is, this issue was resolved in changeset 23548 on December 20, 2008.

I believe this is a problem when you use SQL to host your site instead of XML.  Does anyone know if there is an incident report related to this?  I couldn't find one.
