Does anyone know how to add a custom aspx page in v2.8 and retain the blog description and menu bar?

Same way other pages (contact, archive etc) added.

I've tried copying the contact page and stripping out the code behind but the updated page still has the post list displayed. How do I get a blank canvas on left hand side?

<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="test.aspx.cs" Inherits="test" %>
<asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="cphBody" Runat="Server">
  <div class="post test">
    <h1>My test page</h1>
using BlogEngine.Core;
using BlogEngine.Core.Web.Controls;
using System;
using System.Web.UI;

public partial class test : BlogBasePage
    protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
        Page.Title = "my test title";

I'm using this method to selectively display widget zones. Is there another way to exclude them?

if (Security.IsAuthenticated)
        aLogin.InnerText = Resources.labels.logoff;
        aLogin.HRef = Utils.RelativeWebRoot + "Account/login.aspx?logoff";
        string pageCompletePath = HttpContext.Current.Request.RawUrl;
        if (pageCompletePath.ToLower().Contains("default"))
            WidgetZone1.Visible = true;
            WidgetZone2.Visible = true;
            WidgetZone1.Visible = false;
            WidgetZone2.Visible = false;
