i just installed blogengine and cant figure out something quite simple.
i dont want that all the content of a blog will be displayed in the homepage, just a summery of it.
is there a way to do it in a configuration or should i go to the code ?
Thanks, shlomi.

There's two ways to do this.

Method 1
In each of your posts, you can add [more] where you want the cut-off to be for the front page.

Method 2
On the settings tab in the control panel you can check the 'Only show description of posts' box.  This will show the first 300 characters of each post.  You can optionally customize the excerpt shown for each post in the 'Description' box when adding/editing each individual post.  The 'Description' box is between the 'Slug' and 'Categories' fields when adding/editing a post.

Hi ben, thanks for the reply.
i tried your suggestion but without any success.
i tried to realize why and came to the conclusion that it is the theme fault.
i am using the 'CuriouslyGreen' theme and realized that in the PostView.ascx theme file it use "post.content" and not "body" to display the post.
works good after replacing "post.content" with "body"
Thanks alot.
