How to creating extra fields?

I am investigating the possibility of using as basic content management for a company website. I have set up BlogEngine to use a MS SQL db and am just using it as a tool to put informatin into tables that can be extracted by our company website. With this in mind i need to be able to add extra feilds in the add entry page so that user can add an end date and perhaps a priority tick box. These fields don't really need to have any effect in BlogEngine itself other that put that information into a table.

I am both new to .NET and BlogEngine, so fear i may have bitten off more that i can chew, but my results so far have proved that it would make a better system than out present reliance on wordpress. But without the ability to define an end date it may be for nothing. Is this possilbe? if so how would i do it?
