Brainstorming idea for WCF service for updating blog post from a mobile device

I'm brainstorming some ideas for a wcf service that will update blog posts using an app on a mobile device. I'm currently using BE 1.6.

I was thinking there would be an iphone/android app that communicated with the web server using a wcf service. This wcf service would be installed on the same web server as blogengine. The blogengine.core dll would be added as a reference to the wcf service. You could then utilize the public methods to get/save a post that would update both the database and the List<Post> object cached in memory.

Can anyone please tell me if this scenario will work?

It's an older project that we're adding features to.

Can someone please tell me if this will work? If not I need to find an alternative quickly.

Hi Austin,

You should try this:

BE has an MetaWeblog.axd API that you can use.

For BE 1.6 it is here:

That would be your starting point to figure out how to do it.
