I've added the twitter panel to a blog I've created and set it for 8 updates. I've since decided I'd like to display only 5 so I clicked edit, changed the posts to 5 and saved it. However it stills displays 8 posts and if I edit again it has reset to 8. How do I update this value?

I think I saw this problem with the Twitter widget recently (it needs to be fixed).  In the edit.ascx.cs file in the widgets\Twitter folder, there's a Page_Load event handler in there.  If you replace what you have with what is below, that should fix that problem.  The part I added is in bold, but you can just copy-and-paste the entire code and replace what you have.

protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
    if (!IsPostBack)
        StringDictionary settings = GetSettings();
        if (settings.ContainsKey("feedurl"))
            txtUrl.Text = settings["feedurl"];
            txtAccountUrl.Text = settings["accounturl"];
            txtTwits.Text = settings["maxitems"];

Just wanted to confirm this bug and the fix. Worked great. Thanks!

Also, I'd recommend adding a target="_blank" to the Follow me link in /widgets/Twitter/widget.ascx
