no-follow on comments?

Hi: Just wondering about something...I have comment-moderation enabled, but I'm seeing a lot of "insidious" comment spam where the comment is clearly being posted to just to create a trackback to the poster's URL.

I'm not sure what the best practice is anymore from a search engine standpoint, but shouldn't backlinks have a "no follow" tag on them? And if so, is this being contemplated for BE?

Good idea -- I see a lot of that spam too.  Of course, for real commenters, not having "nofollow" is good for them.

Have you seen rtur's Commentor extension, btw?  It makes comment moderation pretty easy and includes the option to run comments through one of two different comment spam validation services.
