I'm evaluating a few opensource .NET cms systems as starting points on which to develop a SQL-driven website.
I'm thinking I need to add my own tables to the BlogEngine.NET database (will allow me to write SQL joins between my own tables and those in BlogEngine.NET that handle users, posts etc ). I understand that I need to switch BlogEngine.NET from XML to MS SQL
and I'm happy with that.
For the code, should I be looking at extensions, or should I download the source version of BlogEngine.NET and start adding my code to BlogEngine.NET.sln?
Maybe that project's only intended for those contributing to the BlogEngine.NET code?
Searched around the forums/doc but could not find any overview advice on this - maybe using wrong keywords...
My default position would have been to retreat into my "closed" mindset and do everything from scratch without BlogEngine.NET
- but my partner is insisting I move into the 21st century and go opensource!
Any comments much appreciated...
