Changing the Date Created

I had a blog using another blog (ASP) script and I thought that I could maybe enter those into the new DB.  However, I tried to edit the DateCreated in the be_Posts table.  The date seemed to be changed but when I looked at the post, the "original" date was there.  I changed both the DateCreated and DateModified - basically just changed the year from 2009 to 2008 just to see if it would work but it did not.

Is there a way to change the date?

If you make direct edits to the DB, you'll need to restart the blog for the changes to be detected.  Making any change to the web.config file (add a space, etc) will cause the blog to re-start and the latest data to get retrieved from the DB.

For the blog post DateCreated, that is something you can edit on the Add Entry tab in the control panel.  The DateModified value isn't really used anywhere (I can think of).

Thanks - that worked!
