I wanted to share a few lessons and thoughts for deploying BE.N on a cluster (farm).  Please visit my blog for the write-up.  I’ve deployed BE.N on single nodes for many clients.  This is the first post from my actual deployment on multiple nodes.  Few things I learned:  drain stop each node, deploy the code to each node, if using xml files - redeploy app_data/pages and files to each node, restart site and app pool to clear cache.

Few items I found that need further refinement  – so if you have any experience or ideas – please send them over:

  1. How to systematically reset the cache on each node of the farm after updating content in App_Data folder.  Without resetting the app pool.  Need to reset cache for pages and post.
  2.  Tools/techniques you use to push code to all nodes.
  3. Any other things to be aware of when deploying to a cluster?

Thanks.  My blog post is at: BE.N Deployments to a Cluster: lessons from actual deployment.  Stay tuned for my next round.
