another multi instance on one domain question

Dec 19, 2009 at 5:21 PM

Hello I am trying to setup like (instance #1) (instance #2)

I got it working, kind of... the problem is when I login to either instance, both of them go goofy with garbage characters.

My directory structure in IIS is...

• \websiteroot\

o \websiteroot\site1\

o \websiteroot\site2\

site 1/2 are set as separate .net apps... Is this incorrect?

I'm not so sure... I also tried setting the sub directory options in web.config, but didn't change the behavior.

Can someone provide guidance on this setup?

If site1 and site2 are separate web applications or websites in IIS, then using the subdirectory option in web.config isn't necessary (just an fyi).

It's probably best to determine what actual error is occurring.  If you modify the global.asax file in the root of the blog (or one of the blogs), and add the Application_Error handler I posted in this thread on April 23rd, you should then get a more meaningful error message, rather than the garbage characters.
