Question regarding sending comment emails.

Hi all, just today found out about BlogEngine. Have been having a play with it and like it a lot so far.

I have a question concerning the email notification sent when a user posts a new comment. I have BE set to do this but it seems that unless the poster gives a valid email in their comment, the email notification does not get sent to me, although their comment still gets added.

This does not seem like the desired behaviour. Am I missing something here?

Thanks

I would recommend replacing the SendCommentMail.cs file in the App_Code\Extensions folder with a version that was modified after 1.5.0.7 was released.

This one from BE 1.5.1.6.

The main difference is the "From" address for the email notification is set to the email address you have setup on the Settings tab in the control panel.  The ReplyTo address is set to the commenter's email address.  In BE 1.5.0.7, the "From" address is set to the commenter's email address which can cause problems with some mail servers.
