How do I enable breaking long posts in custom theme?

Topics: Themes

I built a custom theme based on the Standard theme in version which works well. However, I find that I cannot break long posts using the [more] tag in my posts. The tag merely shows as text when the post is displayed. When I switch to the default Indigo or Standard themes the [more] links works as expected.

What critical element have I overlooked?

In your theme's Postview.ascx file, do you have this placeholder:

<asp:PlaceHolder ID="BodyContent" runat="server" />

This placeholder should exist for the post content to be outputted into.  Some older themes might be using Post.Content instead, but that doesn't work for allowing extensions (like the BreakPost [more] extension) to tap into post serving process where it can modify the content being served.
