buggy for me. Clean installation on a self hosted IIS6 platform. Followed installation instructions to a T and I have been pulling my hair out trying to resolve issues that should "just work" in a general release. I really want to like blogengine but it's clearly "not there" yet. Would rate this much higher if it worked out of the box as advertised.

How about dropping the 1.6.1 source code? Would be convenient to be able to modify BlogEngine.Core in this release. Otherwise, 1.6.0 is still quite nice.

The setup was smooth and I was easily able to set it up to use SQLServer. My only complaint is that it doesn't work with .NET 4.

One of the simplest and easiest blog engine I've tried so far. I have it running for more than 6 months and still no issues.

This is my favorite open source blogging app. I've installed it over a dozen times for my clients and had everything set up and ready to go in just a few minutes. I'm looking forward to the BlogEngine.NET 2.0 release. With the 1.6 release the only request I receive is for a more attractive admin design. I downloaded the source code and ftp'd it directly to my shared hosting softsyshosting. Easy.

Just like the others. It works fine on the local machine, but once uploaded on the server, you're not be able to post comments. Support for this is very bad, maybe because is free. If some people know how to fix this problem, they are not going to share the solution. So, don't waste your time and move on to something more reliable.

Great project. If you can't get this running there is something wrong with you. Perfect installation. Easy to customize.

I know this app is highly rated by most but out of the box it does not run correctly for me. After following the set up instructions one would expect it to run as does the countless other open source apps I have used. I am rating this app based on the fact that it will not run without errors nor will the themes or styles load. Not sure about features as I am unable to get the app to run.

This is a great tool. You guys have done a fine job creating it. I look forward to what you will add next (might I suggest a site where one can preview all available themes?).

I was very happy with version 1.6 but I really needed the recpatcha for spam control. The 1.6.1 is a great upgrade, easy to impliment, and NO MORE SPAM!

Best out there so far. I have not spent much time looking at Oxite, but tried all the major WebForm-based engines. Of those (including dasBlog, SubText etc.) BlogEngine.Net was the clear winner. The BlogEngine.Net community seems as strong as any, and the custom theming process seemed easiest/most flexible.

Thanks, folks. Up and running in a few minutes. Good documentation for getting started. Helpful forum. Nicely organized framework. The abstractions make good common sense, so finding the right areas to customize is usually pretty easy.

Still waiting for either multi-bloging or a definite NO. Since a few people want it (198 votes currently) maybe it's a good idea to talk about it.
