Can't post comments

I have a problem on my site where I can create custom pages, I can post new stories, but I cannot record referrals and users can't post comments. What permissions am I missing on my site? The site is on a shared host, so I can't turn the permissions on and off myself in order to test it out.

When a user posts comments do they get an error message or do the comments simply not show up? If there is no error message then it could just be that the comments are waiting for approval. I had this problem when I was testing out comments. I didn't realize I had to login as the admin and approve the comments before they showed up on my post and in my comment count. If you have an error message then make sure ASPNET (or whatever account you are using for your site) has modification permissions in the App_Data folder as I believe the comments are written to the same xml file that contains the post.
