How to check if ping is working?

Hi All Is there some way that I can verify if the ping system is actually working when a post is made? It is all enabled in admin, and there are no server errors in the event log, but no positive confirmation either. Otherwise this is a great tool and does everything you could need in a blog. Great job by the developers.. Thanks Clive

I don't believe there's currently any type of logging.  But logging could be added fairly easily.  Btw, I wasn't sure if by "ping", you're referring to the Ping Services, or the Pingbacks.

For Ping Services,  in the BE core, in the Ping\PingServices.cs file, that's where the Ping Services are notified -- within Execute().  When the WebRequest is made, a response is retrieved.  At that point, logging could be done to log the response.  Similarly, in the CATCH block, logging could be done there to log any errors that might occur.

If you're using BE 1.6, you can use the new Utils.Log() function to log any information to the logger.txt file in App_Data.
