enableSessionState="true" Problems?

I would like to use session variables in my code.  The web.config enableSessionState is set to false by default, I have to set it to true in order for my session variables to work.

My question is this: BlogEngine.NET sets enableSessionState="false" for a reason.  Am I going to cause unforseen problems by setting this to true?  Is this set to false by default just to run faster or is the blog going to blow up as a result?

I have it enabled on my site and it works fine with no issues for over a year. You might want to set your session time out though.
