Change default.aspx?

Mar 6, 2008 at 5:46 PM
I am trying to integrate BlogEngine into my existing site and I'd like to keep my present home page as default .aspx. I've renamed and recompiled the source changing default.aspx to blogdefault.aspx in the BlogEngine code. I get sent to my default page (default.aspx) when I click on links on the blogDefault.aspx. Is there an easy way to do this? Put the BlogEngine pages in a sub folder or is there a setting for the for using a different default page in BlogEngine. Thanks in advance.

IronDog, there are a couple of options.

Have you thought about either installing the application in a virtual directory, or creating a sub domain?

A virtual directory would look like this where the application lives in the blog directory, thus you would still use the default.aspx page. If you need more help setting up a virtual directory, you can google for it. There are many resources to assist.
A sub domain would look like this I set this one up last night. To see the present site you can visit A sub domain is more difficult, and is an option if you can edit your DNS settings. Let me know if you are familiar with working with DNS settings and I can help you with this approach.
