I copied the embed code to my post (in the html section) but when i post the code just goes away.

Yeah, what is going on with that?

Even When I view HTML on EXISTING posts that include embed tags, the code seems to be stripped out.

Is that a "feature"?

Maybe this is the answer:

Thank you, but I was not able to get the "extended_valid_elements" parameters working, as discussed in that post.  Also, I wasn't sure which tinyMCE file to modify.  If someone does solve this, and can post a complete solution, I'm sure the universe will reward that person in kind.  :-)  Thanks.

I am trying to understand the issue.  You are writing a post and you want to include a video.  You copy the code like below into the post by clicking on the 'html' button pasting the code and then updating.  Correct?

Example code:

<object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value=""><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="390"></object>

If you are trying to update the tinymce editor in BE the file you would want to add the above mentioned update is in the admin folder called tinyMCE.ascx.

I am able to add the above code no problems and I have made no amendment to tinyMCE.  So, that is why I think I might not understand the problem.

Steps to reproduce the issue:
1.  Log into BlogEngine.
2.  Go to Posts - Write New Post, and type in a Title for the post.
3.  Click the HTML button at the top left of the TinyMCE editor.
4.  Paste in the code: <iframe src="" width="480" height="300" frameborder="0"></iframe>
5.  Click Update.  The code will be stripped out.
This must be some sort of a "feature" of TinyMCE.  Where can I go to find out why this is invalid?  OR...
What changes can I make to BlogEngine to cause TinyMCE to accept the code.  Thank you!

Add the below to the tinymce.acsx file mentioned above.

extended_valid_elements : "iframe[src|class|width|height|name|align]",

Add it to the bottom of the section headed with //Theme Options.  Be sure to include the comma at the end.  I just tested an it worked for me.

Yes, Sir.  That fixed it.  Thank you guynethery.  May the universe be good to you.
