Create a textbox and input the following:

<fb:Like></fb:Like>
<a type="box_count" name="fb_share" href="http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php">Share</a></p>
<script src="http://static.ak.fbcdn.net/connect.php/js/FB.Share" type="text/javascript"></script><p>
<a class="twitter-share-button" href="http://twitter.com/share">Tweet</a></p>
<script src="http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script src="http://www.stumbleupon.com/hostedbadge.php?s=5"></script><p>
<div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style">
<a class="addthis_button_compact" href="http://www.addthis.com/bookmark.php?v=250&amp;username=xa-4c847a7840739e3c"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_facebook"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_twitter"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_stumbleupon"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_myspace"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_google"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_email"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_digg"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_delicious"></a></div>
<script src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#username=xa-4c847a7840739e3c" type="text/javascript"></script>

It took me a while to figure all this out, plus I do a lot of facebook and twitter coding and integration! I thought I would try and help everyone out!

Enjoy!

Thank you so much!

I recently saw this functionality on WordPress and wondered if I could add this functionality when I upgraded mine to Blog Engine 2.0.

Can you help me figure something else out for this code?

If we click on WordPress's Facebook like, it includes the picture, or thumbnail that was associated with the post.

However, with the code above, the picture, or thumbnail do not get posted to Facebook.

Is there a way to add this fucntionality to work more like WordPress?

Regards,

Ryan P. Casey

I have modified an extension that gives Facebook and Tweets. You can see it here.

Thanks, this is cool.

Can you help me understand something?

How does it determine what thumbnail it displays?

Also, can I use a different icon, say one that is used in the code above instead of the Like Button with the check box and the facebook f to the right without changing alot of code?

Could I modify this extension further to customize it?

Feel free to modify but please leave the author's credit (who isn't me) intact.

The icons are chosen via FB I believe. It looks like the icons from the code above are pulled from addthis.com. There's some settings in the extension itself (go to extensions under the admin panel) and see what's available.
