Is it possible to have an English backend an a German blog?

Our blog needs to be in German, because our readers are from Germany. So I've set the language setting to German.

Unfortunately as soon as I change the language the backend is in German too. I would however prefer an English backend for the following reasons

  • the backend translation is not complete, so the text changes between English and German all the time
  • the names of some of the features are sometimes not very meaningful and expressive in the German translation
  • I cannot use tutorials and the search function of this site if I only know the German names of the features. E.g. entering the German name of a setting like "Zeige nur Beschreibungen von Beiträgen" results in "nothing found". If I could see the English name of the feature, I could search for it and would probably find something.

Is there a way to set the language of the backend and the frontend seperately?
