Google search result - description

At the moment, when my site appears in a Google searh result (No. 1 woo!), the description for the link shows the footer of my page (powerd by BlogEngine 1.3.1, etc etc).

How can I (if possible) set a different description ?

Someone told me that the Google crawler assumes that the last paragraph (or text) in a web page is the summary of the page content. Assuming this is true, it makes sense if the footer is displayed in search result because it is the last content in pages produced by BlogEngine.NET.

To change this, we can try to put footer placement textually not as the last text in our HTML. This can be done via CSS manipulation.
