VB code with BlogEngine

Hi all, I'm a junior level .NET developer, mainly a creative designer to be honest.

I'm a noob to BlogEngine.net and absolutely love it so far, I have a website for my band (http://www.greenballflyers.com) where I've put up an install of BlogEngine with a lightly modified version of the Standard theme. I have some code locally that I was using to capture fans' email addresses and names for the purpose of sending updates etc and to gather a fan list to show to recording companies etc, proving we have a fan base. It just writes the details to a MSSQL db.

I want to create a control to integrate this little form into the new BlogEngine install but only know how to do it / have the code for it in VB as I've never worked with C#. Is it possible to write a control in VB and use it within BlogEngine? It's only a little form which when submitted successfully shows a div with links to exclusive track downloads etc. I want to keep the form so that I can control the exclusivity (that a word?!) of the private content and encourage fan signup.

I've been pointed to this: http://blog.krisvandermast.com/UsingVBNETAndCInTheSameASPNET20Project.aspx which looks like it could work but I'd love a bit of guidance from someone who knows more than I!

Many thanks
