sworks69  did you get this resolved I think I need to do the same thing.  I am trying to get the blog entry window to default the main text window background color to a darker colour and the text to a lighter color.??

In the tinyMCE.ascx file in the admin folder, add "forecolor" in the list of options for theme_advanced_buttons1_add or you could add it on the second row of toolbar icons (currently unused), theme_advanced_buttons2_add.

This would require a recompile then, would it not?

Modifying the contents of tinyMCE.ascx in the admin folder would not require a recompile.  This file is not part of the core that gets compiled into a DLL.  This file is just one of the files that you deploy on your web server.

Thank you kindly.  Works well.  While I am a well seasoned WinForms .NET developer, I only dabble with ASP.NET since my employer wants to avoid thin-client apps.
