Request to sioc.axd reveals all your users

I understand that this might be useful in some situations, but it shouldn't be the default. Especially if you use email addresses as usernames.

The last google search results for SIOC is dated from 2008, so I would assume that this feature should be deprecated vis-a-vis what the feature reveals about your user population.

SIOC is part of semantic web initiative, it is sort of designed to "reveal" your users to each other :)
If you use email addresses as usernames you do have a problem, but SIOC has little to do with it - user names commonly used as post author name etc. and if you don't want them to be open you should never use email as user name.
To disable, simply comment out sioc.axd handler in web.config and it will be gone.

Yep. Thanks. I was able to figure out pretty easily to disable the handler. Cheers.
