I was just toying around with my blog, and noticed the newsletter on the add widget menu for the first time.  I tried to add it, but on page reload the site was dead with .net error.  I tried clearing out the DataStoreSettings widget row with default values in the databast, but didn't fix it.  I can't figure out how to fix my widget bar now so that it doesn't crash the site. I had to comment out the widget section so that my site can stay up while I fix the widget problem.

Any suggestions?

If you manually change a file in the data store, usually BE isn't aware of that change, as it has all the settings in memory.  If you restart the blog (make any change to the web.config file for example), then the latest settings from the files in the data store will get re-read into memory.

If you're still getting the error, you could post the error message you're seeing.  Maybe we can figure out what the problem is.
